It is with deep sorrow that the family of Carol Diane McGinnis announces her passing on March 3rd, 2024. Carol, commonly known as Bona, was born on May 3rd, 1952, in Toledo Ohio. Carol was a vibrant and beautiful person who loved Jesus, her family, and Dog Melon. Carol enjoyed gardening, traveling, and basking in the sunshine every chance she had. She enjoyed helping others and honoring her Christian faith. “To quote Carol’s favorite author, Max Lucado: "We see a hearse; we think sorrow. We see a grave; we think despair. We hear of a death; we think of a loss. Not so in heaven. When heaven sees a breathless body, it sees the vacated cocoon & the liberated butterfly."
Carol was reunited in heaven with her husband of 42 years, Timothy McGinnis and their beloved dog Max; her mother, Betty Lou Olemacker and father, Charles D. Clay; and her siblings, David Clay, Cheri Davis, and Linda Clay. She will be forever cherished by her loved ones, her daughters and their significant others, Erin Lynn McGinnis (Tom Bolland), Candace Kelly (Jeremy) Miller, and Tara (Matt) Baber; her dear friend, Stephanie Deatrick; as well as her five grandchildren, Brayden (Jess) Biasatti, Seasidh McGinnis (David Collins), Sage(Cassie) Marshall, Myley Marshall (Zach Laver),and Blake McHenry.
Carol’s celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 10 from 1-3 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Memorial donations may be given to Serenity Haven. Condolences can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
