Joanne Mihailoff , born on November 10, 1937, passed away on January 19, 2024, exactly one month after the loss of her beloved husband of 67 years, Sam Mihailoff. Joanne’s compassionate heart shone during her dedicated years as a nurse at St. Charles Hospital. Upon retirement, she embraced the role of a loving mom, spending her remaining years surrounded by the warmth of her family.
In addition to her husband Sam, she was preceded in death by her parents, Martha (LoRee) and Joseph Doering; brothers, Lawrence “Ted” Doering and Richard “Dick” Doering; and son-in-law, Mike Mann. Joanne, affectionately known as Mom and Nonnie, is survived by her daughters, Debbie Mann, Tami (Tim) Kubiak, Mindy (Art) Schroeder, and Sally (Paul) Napierala, dear cousin, Dianne “DeeDee” Shetley, along with 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A devoted mother and cherished Nonnie, Joanne’s legacy is one of love, warmth, and selflessness.
A celebration of Joanne’s life and legacy will be held at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. on Friday, January 26 from 4-8 p.m. as friends and family come together to honor her memory. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 27 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Roy Sutherland presiding. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
