Louis Ronald VanMeter, age 79, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania with his loving wife by his side. He was born October 4, 1944 in Louisville, KY to Louis and Mary Catherine (Thompson) VanMeter. Louis attended Bellarmine University in Louisville. He was a supervisor for H&H Packaging as well as a spiritualist minister and a self-employed teacher. An expert welder and talented artist, he enjoyed working with metals, and also specialized in ceramics. Louis loved fishing, motorcycling, and animals, especially cats and dogs.
Louis is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Sharon (Davis) VanMeter; 4 children; step-daughters, Candace (Jeff) Tubbs and Tamara (Darin) Snell; grandchildren, Jessica Tubbs and Kennedy Snell and sister, Carolyn (Hank) Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday, February 11 from 2-5 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a private committal service at a later date.
