John Miller Obituary


John W. Miller, age 91, formerly of E. Benalex Drive, Toledo, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on June 23, 1927 in Toledo, OH to Raymond J. and Mary A. (Rutkowski) Miller. John’s places of employment included the Ford Motor Company, Cadillac, and the Jeep Corporation where he worked as an Engineer for 30 years, retiring in 1981. A proud Veteran, John served in WWII as a member of the US Navy Seebees. He enjoyed fishing and the company of his dog, Ruffy. John also loved to go on Cruises with his dear wife, Barbara. He was a long time parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church.
John is survived by his son, Robert (Marcia) Miller; daughter, Diane (Howard) George; stepson, David Henry; brother, Raymond Miller; and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Miller; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; son, Kenneth J. Miller; brother, Daniel Miller; and stepdaughter, Debra Domagala.
Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 p.m. in Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at a later date in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be given to the Hospice Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43214 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
