Joseph Stobinski

Joseph Andrew Stobinski, age 95, of Oregon, Ohio and formerly of Ormond Dr., Toledo, passed away on January 2, 2019. He was born to Albert and Mary (Walczak) in Elm Grove, Wheeling, West Virginia on July 28, 1923. A 1941 graduate of Woodward High School, he attended Stout State College in Menomonee, Wisconsin. Joseph received his bachelor of Vocational Education from the University of Toledo. He then returned to his Alma Mater where he taught printing and graphic arts for 37 years. He was past recording secretary for many years of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. He was also an amazingly talented woodworker. Joseph was a former member of the Toledo Schoolmen’s Bowling League, a huge Tigers fan, and an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed gambling and looked forward to his annual trip to Las Vegas. Joseph was a long time parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Dolores (Kubiak); son, David (Arlene) Stobinski; granddaughters, Lindsay and Ashley; brother, Chester (Jeanne) Stobinski of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Wrobel; and brother, Walter.

Family and friends may visit on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 East Alexis Rd., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Adalbert Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
