Scott Allen Jagielski, age 60, of Toledo’s Point Place Community, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 14, 2019. He was born on May 10, 1958 in Toledo, OH to Melvin and Sophie (Bilski) Jagielski. Scott graduated from Whitmer High School and was employed for 31 years as a Team Leader at the Daimler-Chrysler Jeep Plant on Stickney Ave., retiring in 2008. He was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Scott was always athletic and a natural in all sports that he participated in. He played shortstop for softball, countless racquetball games, and basketball. He bowled many years with his dad and cousins, participating in ma-and pa leagues and tournaments. He golfed weekly with his brother and friends, and many years on a Jeep golf league. He was a member of Outings Unlimited. Scott enjoyed camping, fishing, boating on Lake Erie, and watching Sportscenter. He and his wife Barbara enjoyed attending many family functions. He found great joy and happiness in growing and harvesting his own crops. He was a “jack of all trades.” Scott was strong, loving, and brave. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always smiling and cracking jokes. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Barbara Hester Jagielski; daughter, Alexi Hester Jagielski; sister, Sherri (Tom) Dolphin; brother, Dennis (Jackie) Jagielski; nieces, Korrie (Norm) Orzehowski, Kellie (Chris) Miller, Allison (Chris) Padilla, Jenny (Tony) Demarinis, Jody (Matt) Flippen, Jill (Dave) Ferdi, Nikki Jagielski, and Ami (Mike) Biggs; sisters-in-law, Karon Hester Ehmann and Teresa Hester Seide (Mike and son Brett); brother-in-law, Tim (Nikki) Hester; and many great-nieces and nephews.
