Barbara Ann Vayda

  Barbara Ann Vayda, 79, of Toledo, Ohio went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Barbara was born March 16, 1944, in Toledo, and attended the University of Toledo where she received her BA in Education. She later received her Masters in Special Education from the University of Missouri - Columbia and did post graduate work at Bowling Green State University. Barbara spent the early years of her career working in lower-income schools as a special education teacher in elementary schools around the United States. Her later career was spent in Spain and Portugal where she spent twenty years as a DODDS teacher. Barbara loved to travel and helping others. She spent much of her retirement in Toledo teaching adults to read and helping her family.

  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Mikael Liljeblad, half-brother, Mark Elkington and nephew, Nicholas Elkington.
