Bernice Marie Hubay passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 11th. She's survived by her son Mark Hubay, daughter Sandra McLendon, grandson Gavin McLendon, brother Marvin (Helen) Machinski, nieces Christine (Dan) Ferguson, Maria Machinski, Annette (Brent) Greene, nephews Kevin (Susan) Korecki, Michael (Kim) Machinski, and last but not least - her loving cat, Ebony.
Born a true Polish Ginger, Bernice was a loving (albeit ornery) mother, grandma, sister, Aunt BC, and artist. She survived breast cancer & many other health challenges, the loss of her parents Stanley & Sarah Machinski, and her older sister Barbra Korecki, but most of all - she survived forty-three years as a Lunch Lady for Toledo Public Schools - and has the plaque to prove it.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 15 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Toledo Humane Society or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation." Condolences can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
