My mom passed away Saturday morning. February first, 2025. She was 89 years and 8 months. She left this world in peace, surrounded by the family she meant so much to. Carol was born June 10, 1935 to Angeline and John Pryba. She attended St. Hyacinths Grade school, and Whitney High School. On February 11, 1956 she married my Dad, Richard Rudnicki. They were a forever love, and exemplified what a good marriage and family looks like to me.
Always there, always caring. My Mom was my confidant and friend and always listened to me and guided me as she did with her grandsons. I was fortunate to have lived with her the last six yrs. We both kept each other on our toes and I learned so much from her. I will miss watching 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy’, which was our evening ritual! She also made me take a lot of trips to Burger King for her favorite, a 'Whopper Jr.'!
Carol worked as a bank teller when she was first married, and then became a homemaker, always putting family first. Her great love was taking care of my Dad and I, and later her grandsons. She loved going to Florida and taking my family to Disney World and the beach in Venice, Florida. In later years she would take Andrew and Nicholas, her grandsons, with her to stay. My mom was always striving to make people's lives happier. Especially her grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John and Angeline Pryba; her brother, David Pryba; and her husband, Richard Rudnicki. She leaves behind to cherish her memory and the memories she gave us, her son, Jeffrey Rudnicki; grandsons, Andrew and Nicholas Rudnicki; former daughter-in-law, Colleen Rudnicki and Kaleigh (Rosplohowski) Newman and her children, Collette and Penelope Newman; and her close friend whom she knew for many years, Donna Kelly.
The Funeral Mass for Carol will be Friday, February 7 at 12 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI preceded by visitation at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo.
My Mom was committed to making family first and trying to make things happy for everyone. With that thought in mind, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory. It would make her very happy to know she is still helping children and families to find joy. You can make a donation in her memory by going to https://www.stjude.org/donate.
