Carole A. (Snyder) Kleber, age 89, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026. Carole (better known to many as “Auntie Em”- coined lovingly after her niece and her love for the Wizard of Oz) grew up on Carbon Street in Toledo until the family moved to Noble. She was a graduate of Waite High School and went to work for NASA for over 20 years where she met the love of her life, Christian Kleber. To this day, Carole would state “I think I should go back to work at NASA…I know they would take me back.” Carole and Chris began their life together in the tiny town of Milan, Ohio where they reveled in countless hours of family time, most notably attending the annual Milan Melon Festival. Carole enjoyed many trips to Florida to visit with the Kleber family and annual trips to Curtis, MI where so many good times were had and memories made. A favorite pastime was spending many hours around the table during a common “donut run”, laughing until their bellies hurt with their Monroe family. They wore out the road to Clarkson, MI to spend time with their grandchildren. Carole moved in 2001 to be closer to family after the passing of Chris. She spent her time visiting friends, playing cards, and shopping with her neighbors/friends, and she never missed a family get-together where she took every opportunity to rock the babies to sleep. Carole was so very proud of the achievements of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Carole was preceded in death by her loving and doting husband, Christian Kleber; her brother, Ronald K. Snyder; and her mother and father, Clyde and Ruth Snyder. She leaves to mourn this loss her stepson, Richard (Flor) Kleber; stepdaughter, Christina Kleber; grandchildren, Christian (Kim) Kleber, Gabrielle Kleber, and Michael (Tonja) Broud; great-grandchildren, Nikki Longberry and Gary Emch; nephews and nieces, Kevin (Sharon) Snyder, Kris (Ray) Alvarez, Keith (Susan) Snyder, Kathy (Terry) Bettinger, and Kurt (Betsy) Snyder; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Snyder; and countless great-great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22 from 2-6 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd in Toledo. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 23 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Toledo at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt Carmel Cemetery on Manhattan Blvd., Toledo.
