Carolyn Ann Dybala, 79, of Toledo, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 20, 1942 in Addison, MI to Harold and Audrey (McLain) Gudakunst. Carolyn was employed as a bus driver for the Washington Local School System from 1976-2002. She married David W. Dybala on May 5, 1962. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, she loved caring for her family and home. She was the best cook to ever walk the planet and almost famous for her baked beans! She was also skilled at crochet, fashioning countless baby blankets, sweaters, hats, and booties over the years. She was a member of the Ottawa River Yacht Club Auxiliary.
Carolyn is survived by her husband David; daughters, Laura (Allison White) Duchossois and Lynette (Troy Lloyd) Oberle; grandchildren, Heather Chinery, Tiffanie Howell, Amanda Domsch, Joshua Oberle, and Kylie Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren including special great-grandson Ashton Ridgely; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Kay Emenegger; and sister-in-law, Marcine Gudakunst. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Michael Gudakunst.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 12 from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will be Thursday at 3 PM in the funeral home.
