Christopher Blake Thompson, age 31, of Toledo’s Point Place community, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 25, 1994 in Sylvania, OH to Christopher and Susan (Kittle) Thompson. Chris was a graduate of Mason Consolidated High School, attended the University of Toledo, and was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. He was employed as a corrections officer at the Marion Correctional Institute, and before that held security jobs at several locations, including TSA at Detroit Metro Airport, AAA Security, and Veterans Serving America. Chris was always a history buff who studied everything he could concerning the Civil War, WWII, and Pearl Harbor. A skilled athlete, he loved sports and played football and baseball in high school. He also enjoyed street hockey and air soft wars. His true passion however was Inline Hockey which he played from 2015 to 2021 as a member of the Greater Toledo Inline Hockey League. His legacy will always be tied to the Whalers in the Silver Division where his teammates remember him as a player who embodied what every league hopes for: a player who competed fiercely yet honored the spirit of the game. He cared deeply about his teammates on and off the rink, and displayed strength and courage - continuing to play even after his cancer diagnosis. Chris was known for his kindness and willingness to help others, his sense of humor, and most of all his courage and integrity. He will be dearly missed.
Chris is survived by his parents, Christopher and Susan; dearest friend, Kellsie Cousino; good friends, Seth Harmon and Jessie Perez; many other friends and teammates; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
