Corrine Anne Sedlar, age 86, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Otterbein Sunset Village, Sylvania, OH. She was born on October 26, 1936 in Toledo, OH to Walter and Bertha (Korecki) Zmuda. Corrine was a graduate of St. Michael Grade School and Central Catholic High School. She began her working career as a model for Tiedke’s and the Lion Store. As a Kelly Girl and temporary secretary, she was hired as an office worker for Columbia Gas. Corrine married John Sedlar Jr. and found her true passion as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. A longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, she enjoyed singing in the adult choir and volunteered as a lunch mom for the parish school.
Corrine is survived by her sons, Steven A. Sedlar and Joe (Kelly Hoefflin) Sedlar; and grandchildren, Abigail (Takume Yamada) Sedlar and Emmit Sedlar. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Sedlar Jr. on July 12, 2023; brothers, Leonard, Robert, and Daniel Zmuda; and sister, Margaret Burke.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25 from 4-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a rosary led by the Regina Coeli Altar Rosary Society at 5 p.m. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
In 2020 Corrine became a resident of Otterbein Sunset Village in Sylvania, OH. On behalf of the Sedlar family, a special thank you to all the therapists, nurses and aides who directly cared for Corrine in the memory care unit where she lived.
