Dale Babcock Obituary

Dale Allen Babcock

May 30, 1937 – April 13, 2021

Dale went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus peacefully and surrounded by his loving family.

His love for family & friends was surpassed only by his love for God. Dale was a true Man of God. During his last weeks on this Earth, during his hospitalization, he never ceased spreading the Love of Christ each day with everyone that came in contact with him. He prayed for each individual caretaker, doctor, nurse, by name and told them about Jesus and God’s love for them.

Dale was a graphic artist at Libbey Glass for nearly 40 years after he graduated from Macomber High School. After his retirement, he started a lawn service because he loved being outdoors, gardening and growing beautiful flowers with a passion. Dale was an incredible artist and truly enjoyed watercolor painting. He would often gift his paintings to the many people who touched his life.

Dale taught his family how to be generous and kind. He never ceased in giving to his fellow man.

Some of Dale’s favorite activities included fishing at Bear Lake, Hillsdale, MI, and bowling with friends and family. He loved taking his first grandson Austin Babcock bowling. Oh how he loved that! Dale loved to tinker in his tool shed and did many home repairs himself in his younger years. He enjoyed playing basketball at the downtown YMCA years ago and even rode his bicycle to work from West Toledo to Libbey Glass.

Dale loved his church family as he loved his own family. He will be dearly missed by his friends/family at Northwest Christian Church, Temperance, MI who loved and continually prayed for him. Dale was passionate about attending bible studies and small groups. He loved everyone so much and thought of them as family. The family wishes to sincerely thank Pastor Chuck & Cherene Marckel for nurturing this loving atmosphere at NWCC.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother Lucille, father Donald, loving sister Donna Jean Morris, brother-in-law Robert Morris, and nephew Robert Morris. They are now reunited in eternal joy and peace with Jesus.

Dale leaves behind his beloved and beautiful wife of almost 61 years, Helen Jean (Vogan); daughters, Beth Ann DeLuca (Dennis) and Jeanne Hummel (Russell); son, Stephan Babcock (Jamie); granddaughter, Sydnye Allanya Geil (Scott); grandsons, Austin and Steve Babcock; great-grandchildren, Khaleesi Geil and Erica (Addy) Geil; sister-in-law, Merrie Ellen Vogan; brother-in-law, David (Victoria) Vogan; and all their children.

The real legacy Dale left this world was his love for everyone he came in contact with. He wanted everyone to know how much Jesus loves them. Forgiveness and love conquer all and it’s free to all of us if we accept it. Heaven is rejoicing now that Dale has come home.
