David Allen Mocniak

David Allen Mocniak, age 68, of Toledo, OH, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on October 16, 1954 in Toledo to Frank K. and Virginia L. (Muszynski) Mocniak.  David worked 42 years as a welder and certified crane operator for H. Hansen Industries, retiring in 2020.  He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  An avid bowler, David played in a League with a group from work.  He found delight in riding his Honda Valkyrie motorcycle, enjoyed spending summers with his grandchildren, and loved taking trips with his wife, Lauren, to the small town of Paradise in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  David was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was always found helping out, either making the coffee or assisting his wife with CCD classes.  A wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, he will be dearly missed.

David is survived by his wife, Lauren (Hansen) Mocniak; sons, Chad (Kellie McConeghy) and Jason (Angela) Mocniak; grandchildren, Nick, Shawn, Zack, Isah, Nathan, Mackenzie, Logan, Gavin, and Collin; and sister, Margaret (Tom) Ferrari.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank K. “Morgan” Mocniak and Virginia L. Mocniak; and brother, Francis “Frank” Mocniak. 

Friends and family may visit on Friday, June 16 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd.  The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, June 17 at 1 p.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
