David Stachowiak, age 84, of Toledo passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 24, 1938 in Toledo, OH to Stephen and Hattie (Kaczmarck) Stachowiak. David was a graduate of St. Hyacinth Grade School and Macomber High School. His working career included supervisor for Lawson’s, and working for Cain’s, and Krogers. He was owner and operator of Stacks Remodeling, retiring in 1999. He was a Veteran of the US National Guard, a member of the F.O.E., and a charter parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. David loved traveling with his wife Sandra, including cruises, and trips to Central Europe, China, Alaska, and Poland where his father came from. More than traveling, his Shangri-La was his family, home, and back yard. He loved being called “Dzia”. He’ll always be remembered for freely giving of his time and helping remodel his children’s homes.
David is survived by the love of his life of 62 years, Sandra (Beckwith) Stachowiak; children, Kim Louise (Joseph) Hennessy, Terri Blake, Jodi (Todd) Hage-Ali, and Kristi (Allen) Seelenbinder; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; and sister, Phyllis Banachowski. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Sean Hennessy; brothers, Donald, Robert, and Gordon; and sisters, Dolores Lewandowski and Christine Stachowiak.
Visitation will be Monday, June 12 from 2-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors led by the VFW 606 Burial Corps will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
