David John Stazenski, age 82, of Perrysburg, OH passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024. He was born December 30, 1941 in Wheeling, WV to Bolick (Ben) and Mildred (Waznis) Stazenski. Dave was a 1959 graduate of Bridgeport High School where he earned four varsity letters in baseball, and three in basketball. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. A gifted athlete, he was a pitcher for Ohio State’s baseball team, lettering for three years, and was named as one of OSU’s most effective pitchers at the time. In 2012, he was inducted into the Bridgeport High School Wall of Fame.
Dave dedicated 40 years of his career to Textileather in Toledo, Ohio, serving as a chemical engineer and production manager. His contributions were recognized with the honor of Employee of the Year. An avid birder and outdoorsman, he visited over half of America’s National Parks. He also took great pride in mentoring others, a commitment celebrated at his grandson’s Eagle Scout ceremony and during Ohio Northern University’s Order of the Engineer Ceremony.
Dave is survived by his wife, Pamela (VanNostran) Stazenski; children, Ann Marie (Mark) Krautheim and David (Alexa) Stazenski; grandchildren, Benjamin Krautheim, Ryan Krautheim, Jacob Stazenski, and Leah Stazenski; siblings, Carol (Ross) Campbell and Steve “Pete” (Christine) Stazenski; and loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private funeral mass will be held for Dave. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 419-476-9176.
