Delphine Rose Markiecki, age 89, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 3, 1931 in Toledo, OH to John and Frances (Adamczak) Przepierski. Delphine graduated from Nativity Grade School and Whitney Vocational High School. She was employed as a cashier in the cafeteria at Maumee High School, retiring in 1992 after 20 years of service, and before that as a bookkeeper for Miller Hardware for 14 years. Delphine was proud of her Polish heritage and her Kuschwantz neighborhood upbringing. She was a member of the REAC at the Maumee Eagles, and loved working crossword puzzles and dancing the Polka. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church.
Delphine is survived by her children, John “Jack” (Kim) Markiecki and Jill (Kevin) Schwab; grandchildren, Douglas (Joleen), Andrew (Jessica), and Ryan (Caitlin) Schwab; and great-grandchildren, Dietrich, Gretchen, Nicklaus, and Nolan Schwab. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter R. Markiecki; sisters-in-law, Joan (Wallace) Gorski, Barbara (Richard) Hofmeister; and brother-in-law, Jerome “Harry” Markiecki.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 15 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
