Dennis Paul Kanfield, age 80, of Toledo passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 15, 1942 in Toledo, OH to Romy and Virginia (Henry) Kanfield. A graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and Owens Community College, he was employed as a maintenance supervisor for the Neighborhood Health Association for over 14 years and before that for the Ridgewood Manor and Fairview Manor nursing homes. He retired in 2018. Dennis was a passionate and very active member of Toastmasters International, having held almost every office in local chapters over the years. He was also an art enthusiast, serving as Head Usher at the Toledo Museum of Art and attending painting classes with his daughter at the Hickman Center at Flower Hospital. Dennis was a devoted husband and “most awesome dad in the world” to his four children. He was a member of St. Michael’s in the Hills Episcopal Church.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol (King) Kanfield; children, Dawn Kanfield, Denny Kanfield Jr., and Andrea (John) Kusz; sisters, Ginny Ruth Leininger and Barbara Dugan; brother, George (“Nick” (Diane) Kanfield; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kim Bryant; and brothers, David and Jim Kanfield.
