Dennis “Denny” Charles Winkle, age 72, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 3, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio to James and Margaret (Behan) Winkle.
Denny was a graduate of Whitmer High School and Stautzenberger College. He spent his career as co-owner and mechanic at Telegraph Brake Service. Known by many as someone who would give the shirt off his back to help another, Denny never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, car racing, motorcycle riding, listening to country and classic rock music, and the company of those who loved him.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renee Winkle; sisters, Kathleen, Patricia and Sharon; brothers Mike and Tim. He is survived by his partner of many years, Barb Bieniek; daughter, Nicole (Tom) Holman; son, Mark (Amanda) Winkle; sister, Tina (Jim) Withrow; sister-in-law, Penny Winkle; grandchildren, Emma, Mason, Jacob and Lauren; many extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Road in Toledo, on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a memorial service held at 7:00 PM officiated by Fr. Robert Reinhart. Denny will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery with private services.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Monica Park Cancer Ministry in Garland, Texas or the charity of the donor’s choice.
