Diane Marie Szymczak

  Diane Marie Szymczak, age 55, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s Toledo facility surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 23, 1966 in Toledo, OH to Edwin and Theresa (Zoltanski) Malecki. A graduate of Whitmer High School, she was employed at Jeep and at the Stop & Go on Douglas and Monroe. Diane was proud of her Polish heritage. She loved going to Polish Festivals and cooking Polish dishes for her family. She was an avid fan of country music, especially Kenny Chesney. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with her mom and all her aunts. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, including her best friend Cheryl Sinischo and the family dogs, Darrell and Bella.

  Diane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Fizer; sister-in-law, Sharon Malecki; and nephew, Christopher Malecki. She is survived by her son, Kevin (Lindsay) Szymczak; daughter, Kimberly Szymczak; brother, Jerry Malecki; and ex-husband, Steven Szymczak.

  Visitation will be Saturday, December 11 from 1-5 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
