Doris Lemoine Obituary

Doris Lemoine (Striegel) born May 29, 1929, passed away on November 5th, 2024, at the Ebeid Hospice Center in Sylvania. She was born in Louisville, KY to Edna and Leo Striegel and a 1947 graduate of Presentation Academy.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband James Lemoine and grandson, Christopher James Fisher. She is survived by her children Candy Dudley (Steve, Sr.), Debbie Pollock (Dean), Cynthia Lemoine, and Timothy Lemoine (Katha).  She is also survived by grandchildren Kevin Fisher (Jennifer), Casey Pollock (Elizabeth), Corey Pollock, Nick Lemoine (Lauren), Steve Dudley, Jr. (Nora), Lisa Swaidani (Shadi), Danielle Mahl (Matt), Adrianne Mahl, Evan Mahl and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dori and Jim were brought to the Toledo area through the sport of hockey with Jim being a member of the Toledo Mercury’s IHL team in the early 50’s.   They were longtime members of Regina Coeli parish while living in Toledo and in Bedford, MI.  They were married for 53 years and enjoyed bowling, playing golf and traveling together prior to Jim’s death in 2004. She also liked painting and playing games and cards with friends and family.  Her last place of employment was at Toledo Hospital ADTC. Dori eventually made the move to West Park Place in Toledo where she thrived making many friends with both residents and staff over the last several years.

Doris was quick witted and sharp tongued until the day she died.  Never afraid of giving someone a piece of her mind, she was nicknamed Dynamite Doris by her extended hockey family.  Always “dressed to the nines” she exuded class and authority wherever she set foot.  She was one of a kind and will be missed by many.

The family would like to thank Glass Peaks Senior Living at West Park Place and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for caring for our mother. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of NW Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 419-476-9176. Condolences can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
