Evelyn Helen Dudek, age 97, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 18, 1928 in Toledo, OH to Dominic and Bernice (Oliszewski) Art. Evelyn graduated from St. Anthony grade school and Edward Drummond Libbey High School, and subsequently worked as a secretary for Toledo Auto Electric. A devoted and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Evelyn was happiest when caring for her loved ones. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing traditional Polish dishes for her family and friends. She also loved animals, knitting, and bowling in the “Ma & Pa” leagues with her husband Benny. She was a former parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a current member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church.
Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband of 70 years Benny Dudek, son Gerald Dudek, granddaughter Monica Shine, and sister, Loretta Crosby. She is survived by: her children Allan (Sherlyn) Dudek, Annette Shine, and George (Sandra) Dudek, as well as grandchildren Andrew Shine, Zachary (Tammy) Dudek, Alexander Dudek, Carly Dudek, Jennifer (Patrick) Amsdell, Abigail (Zachary) Sullivan and Madalyn Dudek, and her nephew Richard Crosby, as well as two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, January 9 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 719 Evesham Ave., Toledo. The funeral Mass will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the church followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery.
