Frances Mae Abramczyk, age 92, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 24, 1933, in Toledo, OH to Charles Arthur and Evelyn (Wilson) Dreps. Frances was a 1952 graduate of Holland High School. She was employed as a dietary supervisor and cook for Sunset Village and the Sunset House for 20 years, retiring in 2014. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and very involved there as a member and five-time president of the Daughters of Mary, eucharistic minister, member of the Altar Rosary Society, and volunteer for the Soup Kitchen, Church Festival, Bake Sales, and Mardi-Gras. She was also the rectory housekeeper for Fr. Neal Lucas.
Frances was a wonderful cook, known for her homemade chicken noodle soup with spaetzle, fried chicken, and strawberry and grape wine. She shared several of her recipes as a member of the committee that compiled a cookbook for the OLL Daughters of Mary. She enjoyed playing Bunco and was a member of 3 different Bunco clubs. She also loved mini vacations at Maumee Bay with her friends Rose Lewandowski and Helen Kropaczewski; and her daughter Suzanne.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Abramczyk; her parents; sons, Albert Charles Abramczyk and Andrew John Abramczyk; sister, Barbara Zeihr; brothers, Clarence Dreps and Charles Raymond Dreps; and sons-in-law, Edwin Kermodeá·‡ and Steven Dean Bettinger. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Kermodeá·‡, Teresa Bettinger, and Dorothy (Robert) Deitzel; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; daughters-in-law, Rose Abramczyk and Lori Abramczyk; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a rosary led by the Daughters of Mary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6149 Hill Ave., Toledo, OH 43615, preceded by visitation at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
