Frances Vasquez Gordon, age 76, of Toledo passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in Nashville, TN. She was born September 17, 1946 in Edcouch, TX to Benito and Gregoria (Almager) Vasquez. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker who cherished her family and friends above all else. Proud of her Mexican heritage, she was a wonderful cook who loved hosting family dinners and events. She enjoyed listening to Mexican music and watching her favorite programs on TV. She also enjoyed gardening and was blessed with a green thumb. Always very outspoken, she was not afraid to tell it like it is. She will be dearly missed by her many family members and friends.
Frances is survived by her children, Linda Vasquez, Johnny Vasquez, Eddie Gordon Jr., Sherri (Paul) Huerta, Eddie Joe (Jodi) Gordon, Benito Gordon, and Leslie (Brad) Varner; grandchildren, Anthony, Angelica, Kevin, Taylor, Juanito, Elijah, Jessica, Jenna, Louciano, Lorenzo, Aylisia, Estevan, Benito, Aava, Bradford Jr., Ernesto, Heavenly, Gregoria, and Jacob; and a multitude of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her brothers, Pedro (Gloria), Benito, Guadalupe, Rufus (Nancy), Eddy (Corina), and Jesse (Mary) Vasquez; and sisters, Gregoria (Jr.) Aguilar, Isabel (Leonardo) Castillo, and Rose (Hector) Alvarez. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janie Anita Vasquez, Mary Ramirez, and Sandy Laster; and grandchildren, Arielle and Avery Joe Lovett.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Elder Cedric Franklin presiding. Interment will follow in Restlawn Cemetery.
