Geraldine Ann "Jeri" Cody

Geraldine Ann “Jeri” Cody, 81, of Toledo passed away at home on Friday, January 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 7, 1940 in Toledo, OH to Edward and Frances (Ozanski) Jakubowski. A licensed beautician and nail technician, her places of employment included Texture Zone and Main Place where she was co-owner, both in Point Place, Hair Connection on Lagrange St., and the Fashion Bug. Jeri was a talented dancer who loved polkas and took part in many dances and polka competitions over the years. She enjoyed being outdoors, observing and feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard. A devoted and terrific mom and homemaker, she was also a wonderful Polish cook. She was always affectionate, giving, and connected to the goings on in the lives of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Jeri is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline (David) McKee, Darlene (Scott) Edwards, and Kristen “Angel” (Donny) Lazov; grandchildren, Sarah Schmidt, Renee Schmidt, and Gabriella Edwards; great-grandchildren, Kenny, Paige, and Olivia; beloved nephew, Edward Jakubowski; and longtime friend and polka partner, Kenny Zajac. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Cody in 2008; and brother, Richard Jakubowski.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 20 from 1-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Dr. Michael Spalding presiding.
