Geraldine Ann Michalski, age 87, of Point Place, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Vibrant Life Care Center, Temperance, MI. She was born on February 18, 1933 in Toledo, OH to Lucian and Violet (Urbanski) Borysiak. Geraldine worked in food service for the Toledo Board of Education for 32 years, finishing her career as a Supervisor at Woodward High School in 2005. Proud of her ethnic heritage, she was a wonderful cook and baker who prepared all the traditional Polish specialties, catered many Polish weddings, and passed on her recipes to her appreciative kids and grandkids. Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother and homemaker. She loved family gatherings and traveling with family and friends. An avid collector of Polish pottery, comic books, Beanie Babies, and other items, she was able to bond with individual family members depending on their various interests. She was also a card game enthusiast who loved playing Pinochle with her friends with games sometimes lasting until dawn. She was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Ann (Terry) Telfer, Steven (Barb) Michalski, Joseph Michalski, Elaine Rouse, and William (Paige) Michalski; son-in-law Fred (Zoya) Maseman; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Michalski on October 24, 2014; daughter, Karen Maseman; son-in-law, John Rouse; sister, Lucille Kwiatkowski; and brothers, Leo, Edwin, Jerome “Harry”, and Raymond Borysiak.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Toledo.
