Harry Ray Snodgrass, age 73, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 1, 1952, in Ravenna, OH to Harry Robert and Dora (Browne) Snodgrass. Harry was employed as an industrial electrician at Doehler Jarvis and at General Mills where he received a National OSHA award. He was also a trainer at Washington Local Schools for the General Motors Adult Education Program. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post 587.
Harry was a skilled handyman who could fix anything and was always busy with projects, thus earning the nickname “Dirty Harry.” He had a saying for everything, and he was tough, having helped his mother raise his five younger siblings. An avid reader throughout the years as well as a gun collector, he enjoyed hunting with his son Darren. He was also a member of the Toledo Gem & Rockhound Club. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Harry would have the grandkids fetch him popsicles but reminded them not to tell Grandma. He loved his family dearly.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karen (Kring) Snodgrass (married May 15, 1971); sons, Harry Ryan (Sophie) and Darren (Laura) Snodgrass; and 9 grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Larry, Barry (Penny), Terry (Amy), and Perry (Janet) Snodgrass, and Sherry (Jim) Blanton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Holly.
Visitation will be Friday, March 13 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will begin Saturday, March 14 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with James J. Puhl L.L.M., Chaplain, presiding. Interment will follow in Wolfinger Cemetery with Military Honors led by the VFW Northwood Post 2984.
