Helen M. Domalski-Flowers, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Ebeid Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her family. Helen was born on July 28, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio. The daughter of Anton & Olga Mandeff. She was raised in East Toledo and graduated from Waite High School. She married Eugene “Dutch” Domalski in September of 1949, and together they celebrated 45 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1994. In October of 2003 she married her second husband, Richard Flowers who preceded her in death in 2011.
Helen was employed by Jeep Daimler Chrysler as an executive secretary for many years. She will be fondly remembered for her love of the Lord, entertaining, and music. She was a devoted parishioner of both St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Point Place and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Temperance. Her home was open to many parties and family gatherings, whether it be around her beautifully decorated dinner tables and home, or her swimming pool, guests were always welcome. If polka music was playing, or a vecherinka was going on, a stylishly-dressed Helen could be found tearing up the dance floor - she loved dancing, a trait she passed down to her children, grandchildren and beyond.
Helen is survived by her children, Sharon (Phil) Koenigseker of Temperance, MI and Rick Domalski of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Angie (Jeff) Dec, Becki (Sean) Farrah, James Koenigseker; great grandchildren, Dayna, Sydney, Katelyn, Lilah and Piper; and stepchildren, Nancy Flowers, Mary Jo Roberts, Suzanne Flowers and Paul Flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her sister Marion (Jack) Gorsuch. The family also wishes to thank her terrific caregivers, Linda and Michelle, for the kindness and compassion they showed our mother in her final years.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 3 PM to 8 PM in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Road, Toledo OH where a scripture service will take place at 7 PM led by Deacon Trabbic. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI with Rev. Daniel Ring presiding, where she will lie in state in the narthex after 10 AM. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio.
