Helen Christine Jarosz, formerly of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at her home in Thornville, OH where she lived with her sister and brother-in-law. She was born on May 22, 1950, in Toledo, OH to John and Nellie C. (Steger) Jarosz. A graduate of Libbey High School, “Class of 1968”, she worked in food service for the Mercy Health System for over 42 years. Helen retired in 2009 from Mercy St. Anne Hospital. Though challenged with many health issues through her life, she was never one to complain. She loved spending time with family. Helen had a special talent for needlework, cross stitch, and embroidery, enjoyed adult coloring, and worked jigsaw puzzles. Helen loved to help with the traditional cookie and candy production at Christmas. She was a former longtime parishioner of Little Flower Catholic Church.
Helen is survived by her sister, Faith (Michael) White; brother, Chris (Michele) Jarosz; sister-in-law, Jackie Jarosz; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John “Skip” Jarosz.
The Funeral Mass for Helen will be Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, OH preceded by visitation at the church from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to continue celebrating Helen’s life at the luncheon following Mass. Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo.
