JoAnn Cole

JoAnn Cole, age 91, of Temperance, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 31, 1932 in Toledo, OH to Kenneth and Edith (Barrett) DeWese. JoAnn was a graduate of Waite High School. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her family, including being the fulltime caregiver for her children, Jay and Cindy Cole. Always fun loving and giving, JoAnn looked out for others and loved being everyone’s “Mimi”. She enjoyed dancing, dressing up, and looking her best. No one ever saw JoAnn without her makeup, even when she wasn’t feeling well. She will be dearly missed.

JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Dennis) Sniegowski and Vicki Tate; grandchildren, Heather (Todd) Shupp, Nikki (Matt) Tafelski, Honi Sniegowski, and Dennis (Erika) Sniegowski; and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ty, Alexis, Malayna, Denver, Jay, and Heidi. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay Cole; son, Jay; daughter, Cindy; and sisters, Marguerite Rubel, Myrtle Picking, and Violet Rahm.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 25 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd.  The funeral service will be Friday, January 26 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon James Dudley presiding. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
