Jose “Joe” Sepulveda, age 61, of Toledo, OH, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at home surrounded by those he loved the most. He was the son of the late Toribio and Estefana (Valdez) Sepulveda and was born in Toledo, OH on February 13, 1965. Jose grew up in Erie, Michigan and was a graduate of Erie Mason High School. Throughout his life he was employed with Bettinger’s Green House, JB Landscaping, and Toledo Correctional Institute as an outdoor maintenance supervisor, and most recently with the State of Ohio at Camp Perry as grounds maintenance until his retirement due to a disability in 2022. Jose married the love of his life, Christine Knack, on April 26, 2013, and together they shared many happy memories of the life they created together. He was a fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines “Go Blue!,” the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers and was a member of the Outings Unlimited Club. Joe left this world with many friends. His life was good because of the love and friendship with so many incredible people. Each person was an important part of what made his life happy. Many thanks to all those friends who loved him in spite of himself. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Christine Knack; his siblings, Juanita Sepulveda, Yolanda Graciani, Erlinda Morales, Carlos Sepulveda, Rojelio Sepulveda, and Pedro Sepulveda; and many extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Toribio and Estefana (Valdez) Sepulveda, and his brother, Ricardo Sepulveda.
