Joyce A. Zielinski passed away on June 29, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Ebeid Center. She was born in Toledo on May 21, 1945 to Ben and Frances Kremnec. Joyce graduated from St. Adalbert Grade School, Central Catholic High School (class of 1963) and Stautzenberger Business School. She married Bob Zielinski on Oct. 2, 1965, who preceded her in death in 2004, and raised 2 children, Laura and Chris.
Joyce worked for Ohio Bell for 4 years; in OPR Services, Accounting, and Data Processing. After her children started school, she worked at Lion/Westgate in the needlework dept., helping many people with knitting and crocheting. She also helped her husband on several radio polka broadcasts and was often the driver for his band gigs driving up and down the East Coast from CT to FL.
In 1981, Joyce returned to Ohio Bell/ATT working in the TSPS and OSPS offices, during which she was proud to be awarded Employee of the Year in 1989. When Toledo closed their office, she transferred to the Plymouth MI office, completing 23 years with ATT.
After retiring from ATT, Joyce worked for Fr. Stephen Majoros (St. Joseph Church/Toledo), as his secretary. She traveled to Rome 4 times and in 2000 met (Saint) Pope John Paul II in his Papal Library. She met him again in 2001 when visiting with her husband Bob. After Fr. Majoros retired, Joyce worked for Fr. Joseph Poggemeyer as Parish Manager, retiring in 2013.
Joyce was most proud of being a grandma to her 3 grandchildren, watching them from birth through school age. She loved going to CCHS Crew Regattas with her grandson, Stephen and cheerleading events with Abigail and Ava. She was an avid CCHS Football fan, attending almost every game with her daughter, Laura.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents; and sister, Sylvia Winzenried, Joyce is survived by her daughter, Laura Estes; son, Chris (Sally) Zielinski; grandchildren, Stephen Estes (Miranda Robertson), Abigail (Matthew Mandelka), and Ava Zielinski; and her sister, Nancy Marciniak.
