June Alice Marie Fineske, age 96, of Tipton, MI and formerly of Oxbridge Dr. in Toledo, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, MI. She was born on December 30, 1925 in Toledo, OH to Emmit and Lillian (St. Aubin) Lannen. June was a graduate of Libbey High School “Class of 1943”, and Mary Manse College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Art. June and her husband Kenneth were owners and operators of the Glendale Flower Shop for 26 years, retiring in 1978. A member and past president of the Hummel Collectors Club in Toledo, she was a recipient of the National Hummel Collectors Award in Tarrytown, NY. She was also a member of the Jack Daniels Tennessee Squire Association. Proud of her Irish heritage, June was a woman of conviction who was instrumental in obtaining a crossing light for the children at Detroit Ave. and Copeland Blvd. She loved vacationing with her family at their cottage on Lake Evans in Tipton, MI. She was a former member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Toledo.
June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth P. Fineske; and son, Mike Fineske. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Fineske; daughter, Nancy (Fritz) Kuebbeler; grandchildren, Adam (Kate), Brady (Katie), and Cody Fineske; Tara (Paul) Kaiser; Marcus (Summer) and Andy (Cristin) Piskowski; and Travis Payne; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 25 from 10-11 a.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Daniel Waters presiding. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
