Kara Grabowski

Kara Elizabeth Grabowski, age 25, of Toledo’s Point Place Community, passed away Sunday October 5 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Toledo on August 22, 2000.  Diagnosed shortly after birth with Cystic Fibrosis, Kara never let it slow her down.  She was a “Make a Wish” kid for Northwest Ohio in 2010.  Kara graduated early from Woodward High School in 2016 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo at the age of only 20.  She was employed as a Case Worker for Lucas County Children’s Services and a proud member of the Washington Township Fire Department.  She loved caring for animals, especially her dogs, and she loved helping people through her work.  Kara was always busy whether giving her all at work or volunteering on Sundays at the Humane Society.  She found her greatest joy in staying active, hanging out with Theo (her dog and first love) and Dawson, her husband, and helping others in any way she could.

Kara is survived by her husband, Dawson Grabowski; parents, Todd Gruesbeck and Jody Kuron Gruesbeck; brother, Kyle (Jessica) Gruesbeck; nephew, Reid Gruesbeck; grandmothers, Stephanie Kuron and Betty Klug; grandfather, Dennis Gruesbeck; uncles, Stephen Kuron and Chad Gruesbeck; and many more extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 12 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m.
