Karen Kathleen Czop

Karen Kathleen Czop, Age 55, Of Toledo’s Point Place community, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born on January 12, 1970 in Toledo, OH to John and Kathleen (Niedbalski) Czop. Karen was a graduate of Whitmer High School, “Class of 1988”, and attended Stautzenberger Business College. She worked in Environmental Services at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital for over 30 years, as well as the McDonald’s restaurant on Alexis Rd. Karen loved crafting and beadwork, jigsaw puzzles, feeding the birds, and her two “purr-babies”, Misty and Callie. She especially enjoyed bus trips to Virginia Beach and all over the US with her mother Kathleen and her best friend Matt. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, John A. Czop on January 18, 2021. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen Czop; brothers, Kenneth (Myong) and Lawrence (Cindy Nyitray) Czop; dear friend and loving companion of 25 years, Matt Berger; nieces and nephews, Maxine (Trei) Post, Ryan (Amanda) Czop, Mathew Czop, Jacob Czop, and Markie (Caleb) Straub; great niece, Ava Czop; great nephew, Theodore Straub; and many coworkers and friends.

A memorial Mass for Karen will be scheduled in the Spring, with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 419-476-9176. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
