Karen S. Szczublewski

Karen (Studniewski) Szczublewski, 62, of Toledo's Point Place community, passed away Friday, May 16th 2025 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with her children at her side.

She was born on March 14, 1963 in Toledo, OH to Richard and Alfreda (Zarecki) Studniewski. Karen graduated from Central Catholic High School and the St. Vincent School of Nursing. A dedicated Registered Nurse, she worked at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital specializing in post-partum care and obstetrics where her passion was for caring for newborn babies. The last four years of her nursing career were at the Comprehensive Pain Management and Surgical Center until her retirement in 2015.

Karen was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she served as both lector and sacristan. An avid music lover, she also enjoyed cross-stitch, jigsaw puzzles, and rooted for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

She will be missed by her family, colleagues, and friends.

Karen is survived by her mother, Alfreda Studniewski; daughter Jennifer, son Richard, brother Rev. Gary Studniewski, former husband Robert Szczublewski, and her aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Studniewski, and grandmother, Julia Zarecki.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 25th from 1-6pm at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 27th at 11am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The family will greet visitors at the church from 10-11am
