Laurence Leslie “Larry” Kehr, age 68, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 23, 1955 in Toledo, OH to Donald and Virginia (Zelling) Kehr. Larry was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Owens Community College. He worked for the City of Toledo’s Water Reclamation Department for 29 years in equipment maintenance. A diesel mechanic and member of Teamsters Union Local 20, he was also employed as a mechanic and material handler for Hoffer Inc. He was a former parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Larry enjoyed watching old Westerns, NCIS and Star Trek, and listening to oldies and rock music. He was an outgoing and fun person with friends everywhere, including the regulars at Louie’s Café. He was everyone’s favorite handyman, and happiest spending time with his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Laurene Kehr; grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Autumn, Avalyn, Alec, and Anden Harris. Brothers, Michael (Pat), Donald “Emil”, Robert (Maryann), and Martin (Cheryl) Kehr; aunt, Carol Heiden; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, February 9 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon James Dudley presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
