Laurice Donia Mayes

Laurice Donia Mayes, 52, of  Toledo passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born February 4, 1969 in Toledo, Ohio to Lawrence and Donna Mae (Caughhorn) Fraley. Laurice was a graduate of Whitmer High School. She worked in the billing department for Roadway Trucking for 15 years and was property manager for both the Collingwood Green and Cambridge Court Apartments, retiring in 2020. She was a typical middle child who was peace-seeking but mischievous! Laurice was a talented and creative woman. She loved cooking for her family and entertaining with a gourmet meal!  She loved singing, doing karaoke with family, and listening to music. She also enjoyed photography and often creating her own little inventions that she would swear she could patent and make people happy! Her Smile would light up a room and as her face lit up her eyes would twinkle until she let out her contagious giggle! She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Maumee, Ohio. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Laurice is survived by her father, Lawrence (Dee) Fraley; sons, Kyle Gibson and Korey Mayes; sister, Michelle (Paul) Beauch; brother, Lawrence (Trina) Fraley; nieces and nephews and grandson Ayden. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Mae Fraley; and sister, Desiree Fraley.

A memory sharing time and prayer will be Wednesday, October 27 from 12:00-1:30 at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. followed by a graveside time of reflection at Toledo Memorial Cemetery at 2 pm. A gathering of friends and family at NorthPoint Church in Toledo (corner of Harvest and Laskey) will be from 3:30-5 pm.
