Lawrence Edward Esper

  Lawrence Edward “Larry” Esper, 75, of Toledo passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born January 10, 1946 in Toledo, OH to Gabriel and Ruth (Saunders) Esper. A longtime parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, he attended St. Agnes Grade School and graduated from Start High School. Larry worked in the Body Shop at Chrysler-Jeep for 30 years, retiring in 2006. An avid card player, he loved playing poker with his friends and going to the casinos, “donating” thousands of dollars over the years to casinos in Toledo, Detroit, Las Vegas, and Canada. He also enjoyed vacationing with loved ones at the family cottage on Harsen’s Island, MI.

  Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jamie, Edward, Charles, John, and Martin Esper. He is survived by his sister, Rita (George) AbiZeid; brother, Steve (Nancy) Esper; and many nieces and nephews.

  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4 from 2-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd.  The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Robb Beisser presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
