Leo Stanley Pawlowski Jr., age 85, of Toledo, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was born on April 13, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to Leo Stanley and Mary (Wojtkiewicz) Pawlowski Sr. Leo was a graduate of John Adams High School in Cleveland. He was employed as a plant manager for the former Major Laundry Co. for 10 years, and for Adams Laundry & Cleaners for 25 years, retiring from there in 2007. A Veteran of the Army National Guard, he was a member of the American Legion Conn Weisenberger Post 587. Leo was an avid golfer in his younger years but in retirement, rediscovered his love of shooting, especially with his son-in-law, Brian. He was a member of Toledo Trap & Skeet and the Wolf Creek Sportsman Club, and enjoyed fishing, especially fishing excursions to Alaska with his son Brian. A skilled builder, Leo loved keeping busy with construction projects including remodeling his basement, building shelves, and helping his daughter Nicole with building her home. He was a 46-year parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church.
Leo is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elaine (Miekis) Pawlowski; daughter, Nicole (Brian) Pawlowski-Herr; and brothers, Paul (Chris) and Jim Pawlowski. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Brian Pawlowski.
Visitation will be Monday, May 6 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church at 10 a.m. The VFW Northwood Post 2984 will conclude with Military Honors at the church.
