Lily Pecina Lopez

Lily Pecina Lopez, age 81, of Toledo passed away at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.  She was born on January 26, 1942, in San Marcos, TX to Leopoldo and Refujia (SanMiguel) Pecina Sr.  Throughout her life, Lily worked for St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Hunt’s Canning Factory, Bettinger’s Greenhouse, and for CJ Snyder.  She was also the President of Latin United.  Lily enjoyed creating fun crafts and sewing.  She loved listening to music, dancing, and traveling with her late husband, Juventino.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, who cherished time with family and friends.  Lily was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

Lily is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Sanchez, Christina (David) Gonzales, Joanne (Ruben Rodriguez) Garza, Lily Ann Lopez-Wahl and Estrella Lopez; sons, David (Heidi), Juventino III (Jennifer), and Alfred (Crystal) Lopez, Ronald Ramos, Thomas, Jason, and Jose Lopez; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her siblings, Esther (Juan) Dioncio, Refujia Pecina, Marcos (Lucy) Pecina, Angelo Pecina (Mary Vasquez), and Pablo Pecina.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopoldo and Refujia Pecina; loving husband of 62 years, Juventino F. Lopez; sons, Randolph Lopez Sr., and Alejandro “Alex” Lopez; granddaughter, Serena Hernandez; grandsons, Stefan Salo and Michael Lopez; and brothers, Robert, Frank, Ralph, Leopoldo Jr., Andres, and Magdaleno.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 10 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a Rosary at 7 p.m.  Funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Sts. Adalbert and Hedwig Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
