Margaret Ann "Marge" Zuccarell

Margaret Ann “Marge” Zuccarell, age 93, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Goerlich Center in Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 29, 1929 in Toledo, OH to Ernest and Margaret (Quinn) Byrd. A proud graduate of Central Catholic High School “Class of 1948”, she worked as an L.P.N. as well as in the X-Ray file room at St. Vincent Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 1994. In 1991 she was named the Marguerite d’Youville Employee of the Month at St. Vincent Medical Center. Margaret was a longtime actively involved parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and member of both the Parish Advisory Council and Parish Festival Committee. A wonderful cook, she was famous for her baked spaghetti. She was also the family nurse, always caring for others, including family, friends, and neighbors.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Mike) Schneider and Regina Davis; sons, Ernie (Helen), Philip, Charlie (Sue), Mark (Theresa), Randy (Joyce), and Matt (Heather) Zuccarell; and sister, Florence Grandowicz. In addition, she is survived by 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Richard Shordt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Margaret Byrd; husband, Dr. Joseph Zuccarell Sr.; son, Joseph Zuccarell Jr.; great granddaughter, Brooke; step grandson, Michael; step great-grandson, Jonathan; and siblings, Catherine, Mary Ellen, Rose, Ernest, Gail, Jim, Harold, Theresa, and John.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 28 from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Clement Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. The service will also be livestreamed at YouTube-St. Clement. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
