Maria Elena Barrientes

Maria Elena Barrientes, age 70, formerly of Manhattan Rd., Erie, MI, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital in Adrian, Michigan.  She was born on November 22, 1953 in Curtis, Ohio to Daniel and Juanita (Diaz) Barrientes.  Maria was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She had a beautiful spirit and will be deeply missed.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Maria “Betsy” Garza. She is survived by her siblings, Arnold (Janie) Barrientes, Gloria Guzman, Ernestina Sarabia, Samuel (Julie) Barrientes, and Daniel Barrientes Jr.; half-sister, Beatrice Leal; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Visitation will be Friday, December 15 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m.  The funeral Mass will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, MI preceded by visitation at the church from 10- 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
