Marie Bernice Turner, age 83, of Toledo’s Point Place community, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 22, 1940 in Monroe, MI to Anthony and Julia (Salva) Miletti. Marie was a graduate of Monroe High School and worked in the restaurant industry at Northwood Villa and Ricardo’s. She was office manager for Dr. Bernard Sisman in Monroe, MI. A parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for over 60 years, she was actively involved as a greeter, a church festival committee member, festival worker, and funeral luncheon program volunteer. She also volunteered many hours with Meals on Wheels, and as a precinct worker for local elections. Marie served as the Chairperson as well as committee member for Monroe High School Class of 1958 class reunions. She loved being with friends and family, never turned down an invitation to celebrate, and was always the “life of the party”.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David J. Turner on June 27, 2016; brothers, Fred and Louie Miletti; and sisters, Madalyn Wright and Lucy Albain. She is survived by her son, David A. (Jodie) Turner; daughter, Gina (Doug) Stapleton; grandchildren, Trent Turner, Nathan Turner, Katey (Shane) Roring, Carey Stapleton, and Cameron Stapleton; great-grandson, Archer Douglas Roring; and brother, Gene (Sharon) Miletti. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, but she had a special place in her heart for Tami and RaeLynn.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 1 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5153 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. Those attending the Mass are invited to go directly to the church by 10:45 a.m. for the service at 11.
