Marlene Ann (Szmania) Drabek, 79, of Toledo, OH passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was born to Chester and Florence (Lawecki) Szmania on September 4, 1942. She retired from Party City after working several years in the greeting card industry. Marlene was a lifelong parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where she was president of the Altar Rosary Society and held many other church responsibilities. She enjoyed puzzles, Notre Dame Football, and polka music. She loved spending time with her grandkids, especially her Friday afternoon dates with granddaughter Alexa, and she was everyone’s “Busia”.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Christine (Matthew) Hacker; and sons, Greg (Marti) Drabek and Kevin (Amy) Drabek. Also surviving are grandchildren, Joshua Hacker, Koby Weis, Alexa Drabek, Colton Hacker, and Camden Drabek. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Roland Drabek.
Visitation will be Monday, June 27 from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Members of the Regina Coeli Altar Rosary Society will lead a rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
