Mary Gale Obituary

Mary F. (Abramczyk) Gale completed life’s journey on Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Ernest and Helen (Vickers-Jagodzinski) Abramczyk on November 23, 1938. Mary married Harry W. Gale on May 14, 1956 in Monroe, MI and they became parents to four children. Harry (aka Bill) and Mary owned Gale’s Fish and Seafood (aka The Fish Market) on Telegraph Rd. on the Ohio/Michigan State Line in Erie, Michigan, established in 1971. Their son Steve and his wife Denise now own the family business and are the 3rd generation to do so. Mary was an entrepreneur, and owned and operated The Galley Restaurant, Action T-Shirts, The Christmas Shoppe, and Magnum Fireworks.

Mary spent many hours beginning in 1976 researching our ancestors. She was also an avid quilter and seamstress. Mary loved to travel - her adventures took her to Poland, Washington D.C., Manistee, Michigan, Florida, and California. She also spent some of her spare time in casinos. Family was very important to both our parents and they taught us to love one another, be honest, and work hard. It was Mary’s desire to be with us until she was 125 years old, however we know that Mom and Dad will be watching over us proudly as we travel through our life’s journey.

Harry preceded Mary in death in 2009, as did her parents, including her stepdad, Felix Jagodzinski; siblings, Frank (Peg) Abramczyk, John Abramczak, Felix Jagodzinski II, Felicia (Bill) Skow, and Karen (Mike) Degroff; and son-in-law, Tim Williams. Bill and Mary are hoping to embrace each of the above eagerly; as well as the ancestors discovered on the genealogy search.

Surviving are her children, Bonnie Williams, Linda (Bob) Lentz, William (Becky) Gale, and Steven (Denise) Gale; grandchildren, Spencer Boose, Billie (Matt) Acton, Nicholas Lentz, Miranda (Josh Gooch) Lentz, Kevin Gale, Carol (Ron) Covert, Billy Martin Gale, Stevie (Erica Steinman) Gale, Matthew (Reagan Groesbeck) Gale, and Kasey Rose Gale; 7 great grandchildren; and many many nieces and nephews who held a special corner in the hearts of Uncle Bill and Aunt Mary. Mary also leaves a special brother, Jim (Sandi) Jagodzinski and precious sisters, Eleanor (Ken) Byrne and Dolores (Dan) Glass.

Thanks to all Mary’s school friends we have great memories, and she plans to add lunches or dinners with the Whitney High School and Macomber High School Grads the 3rd Monday of each month in the company of the Holy Family.
