Mary Lou Hollingdale, age 72, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 11, 1951 in Toledo, OH to Marvin and Lillian (Staifer) Grindstaff. Mary was a graduate of Whitmer High School. After marrying the love of her life, “Skip”, she became a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Mary enjoyed making jewelry, particularly beading, and was an avid animal collector – sheltering all kinds of furballs. She loved to cook, especially for big family gatherings where she would make her exceptional fish fries and chicken dinners, killer coleslaw, and special secret dipping sauce. A truly beautiful woman inside and out, Mary will be deeply missed.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 50+ years, Roy “Skip” Hollingdale; daughters, Jeri (John) Landon, Gina Keller, and Darcey (David) Harbaugh; son, Dan (Tammy) Hollingdale; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Kelli (Kevin) Grindstaff; brother, Marvin (Kris) Grindstaff; and canine companion, “Bones”. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Chaplain Summit Johnson presiding.
