Mary J. Krompak, age 100, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Wolf Creek Skilled Nursing. She was born on October 14, 1922 in Toledo, OH to Benedetto and Teresina Calipetro. Mary was a graduate of Birmingham Grade School and attended Waite High School. She was employed as a salesclerk for Lamson’s, LaSalle’s, and the Lion Store downtown before becoming a clerk for the Lucas County Welfare Department from which she retired after years of service. Mary was a former parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. A founding member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and member of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society, she was actively involved in her church’s numerous activities. In addition, she enjoyed her many trips to Florida but most of all she loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Pamela) Krompak and Robert (Helen) Krompak; grandchildren, Eric, Erin, and Benjamin (Michele) Krompak; sister-in-law, Nora Colapietro; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 62 years, Steve Krompak; sister, Antoinette Nenno; brothers, Louis “Larry”, Frank, James, and John “Leo”; and half-brother, Anthony Sargenti.
The family wishes to thank Wolf Creek Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing staff and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassionate care she received.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 24 from 3-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a Rosary led by the Regina Coeli Altar and Rosary Society at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will begin on Monday, September 25 in Regina Coeli Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. A private interment ceremony will be in Calvary Cemetery for the immediate family.
