Mary Katherine Osswald

Mary Katherine Osswald, age 94, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, surrounded by loving family. She was born November 1, 1930, in Clifton, New Jersey, to Joseph and Margerita (Mammola) LaCorte. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. A longtime parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church, she was actively involved there as a member and past president of the Rosary Altar Society, and as a funeral luncheon committee volunteer. She was also a faithful volunteer at Golden Haven Nursing Home. Mary was a gifted artist who worked in many mediums including drawing, watercolors, acrylics, and oils. She specialized in still-life and landscapes, and even designed her own greeting cards.

Mary was very devoted to her faith. She prayed daily for all her family and took great interest in all of their activities. She was a continual blessing to all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her husband of 72 years, Charles A. Osswald (married June 7, 1952); children, Charles “Jerry” (Debbie) Osswald, Richard Osswald, Thomas (Cherie) Osswald; Mary Ann (Steven) Kwiatkowski; John (Erin) Osswald, Bill Osswald, and Michael (Heidi Pitzen) Osswald; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lori LaCorte. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elizabeth Scalzo and Josephine Zito; and brothers, Anthony and Salvatore LaCorte.

The Funeral Mass for Mary will be Monday, January 6, at 11 a.m., in St. Clement Catholic Church preceded by visitation at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
